Availability of Uig Services – w/c 10th August 2020

It has been a long and difficult few months and we know that many people have missed visiting Uig during the Covid-19 pandemic.   The Uig community are just beginning to emerge from lockdown and businesses are deciding how and when to open over the coming weeks and months. Some have decided not to open at all this season.  Like many of the island communities we are looking to balance the care of our neighbours whilst also supporting local businesses.

Before you travel to Uig please note that, as of the week commencing the 20th July, the following will, or will not, be open.  This may of course be revised as the summer season continues and we will look to update information as and when circumstances change.

Public transport to and from Uig is now available on a reduced service.  The bus needs to be booked the day before by phoning Pater Maclennan on 01851 830403.  The current bus timetables are available on the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar website.

Thank you for support and cooperation - by helping us at this unusual time you are playing your part in supporting our community facilities and in slowly rebuilding our tourism industry.
